The story of the company Calvi begins in 1919 when the young Giuseppe Calvi -- son of olive cultivating and oil producing family -- returns from World War I and decides to become an entrepreneur by using the knowledge gained while working on the fileds. In 1921 together with his brother, Paolo, he sets up his own company. Even today the brand Calvi is still considered one of the most notable representatives of the Ligurian gastronomian traditions. Among the numerous Calvi specialties the most remarkable ones are the extra virgin olive oils, tuna fish and vegetable products.

Mosto Oro
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Mosto Oro" is the pride of the Calvi company.
It is produced from the finest olives of "Taggiasca Quality" (a variety of olives exclusively typical of the hills of western Riviera Ligure) of the "Valle di Oneglia" (Oneglia Valley), harvested by hand from late January to March, at their maximum ripening, and immediately cold pressed in a traditional mill.
"Mosto" means unfiltered, and in fact, the oil is bottled just as it comes from the mill, without any kind of treatment, after a period of natural decantation. The bottles are wrapped in a gold foil for full protection against light. Thanks to its golden colour and its extremely mild and almondy flavour, the extra virgin olive oil "Mosto Oro" enhances the most refined dishes and is especially recommended for dressing fish.
Mosto Classico
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Mosto Classico" is the first cold press from a selection of Olives cold pressed in the first months of the harvest."Mosto Classico" is "mosto" (unfiltered): bottled just as it comes from the mill, after a period of natural decantation.
It is always sweet, but fresh and fruity, and it is therefore an excellent choice for dressing both vegetables, salads, and also more delicate dishes.
Mosto Classico comes in a very elegant bottle, wrapped in green aluminium foil that protects this oil from the action of the light.
Pinzimolo in Costolata Bottle

This gives to this oil a fresh perfume and a delicate fruity taste, which makes it ideal to season all the fresh vegetables.

Belazu Early Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil Unfiltered
This fragrant extra virgin olive oil comes from Belazu’s own olive groves and is made from Arbequina olives grown around the village of Albages in Catalonia, Northern Spain. Some of the trees in the grove date back to 1870. When harvesting Belazu singles out specific trees for just the right combination of green, purple and black olives, which create the flavour profile we’re after.
Typically the olives would be harvested between the second week of December and the second week of January but, as the name suggests, for our Early Harvest Oil the olives are picked in November. They are traditionally stone ground into a paste that is cold pressed at a temperature no higher than 30°C.
The Arbequina olive gets its name from the town of Arbeca in Lleida where it was originally cultivated. The Arbequina olive is small and the trees are usually planted on hilly, inaccessible ground making it difficult to harvest mechanically. This means a good proportion of the crop is picked by hand.
The oil is packaged in the 1 litre tin as soon as it is pressed to preserve the fresh, green flavours of the newly harvested crop. Keeping oil in a tin is an extremely effective way of preserving the quality of the oil as sunlight can cause the oil to oxidise and affect the colour and taste of the oil. Our oil is unfiltered so it is not totally clear and has some olive sediment that may settle at the bottom of the tin. This enhances the characteristic flavours of the oil and gives it a thicker more velvety texture.
